Shaded Broad-Bar Scotopteryx chenopodiata

Scotopteryx chenopodiata is a species of moth in the family Geometridae (the geometer moths). Wingspan: 30–38 mm.

Appearance: The forewings are light brown or greyish with a broad darker band running across the middle. This band is usually well-defined, giving the species its common name. Hindwings are paler with faint crosslines.

The overall coloration can vary, which makes it somewhat tricky to distinguish from related Scotopteryx species.
